Speaker Series at University of Colorado School of Medicine, February 14, 2012
On February 14, 2012, the Benjamin Rush Society and the Colorado Area Health Education Centers presented the second of this year's speaker series, featuring Dr. Mike Fallon, MD (former CD1 candidate). Dr. Fallon discussed:
- The health reform we should have undertaken;
- A free-market apporach to health care;
- the provider-patient relationship under PPACA
Dr. Fallon described a "three-legged" model that balances quality, access, and cost. A medical entrepreneur, Dr. Fallon has established a network of urgent-care clinics with prices that are posted for patients to see, allowing them input to this trade-off.
The presentation was held at the Unversity of Colorado Denver, Anshutz Medical Campus (Aurora, CO), and piping hot pizza was served!
